Tools

This is a list of tools I use everyday.

• Total Commander – it is much easier to manage your files with TC than with standard Windows Explorer.
• OneNote – I am using it for my todo list, GTD, ideas/projects notes and store everything what can be useful in the future.
• Notepad2 – extended version of system Notepad. I replaced my system notepad with Notepad2. Performance is the same like the standard Notepad.
• PureText – allows to paste not formatted version of text from clipboard with WIN+V.
• IrfanView – small and fast photo browser and editor.
• Paint.NET – extended Paint. It has lots of Photoshop features. Since I start using it, I do not need Photoshop anymore.
• Key Jedi – small application written by Roy Osherove. It displays pressed key shortcuts. Good for presentations.
• ZoomIt – better version of Windows’ Zoom. More comfortable key shortcuts (e.g. CTRL+4), no app window and it allows to draw on the screen.
• Fiddler – network traffic sniffer, good for Web Debugging.
• ColorZilla (for Chrome and Firefox) – allows to copy color from web page by one click.
• Everything search engine – super-fast app for searching files and folders on your hard drives. Must have for every Windows user!
• Sumatra PDF – free PDF, eBook (ePub, Mobi), XPS, DjVu, CHM, Comic Book (CBZ and CBR) reader for Windows.
• ConEmu – Windows console with tabs and customization enabled.
• ScreenToGif – application that allows you to record part of your screen and save it as an animated gif.
• LiceCap – ScreenToGif alternative for Mac.
• Carnac – keyboard shortcut visualizer (similar to Key Jedi, but shows also single letters).
• WinDirStat – visualize disk usage.
